Consumption Among Friends

Updated: May 8, 2018

A poem by Reagan Davenport.

she leaks, rising with the tongue,

hard, fleshy lips thorned with the sting of your loose bitterness.

salt, crystalline on crusted lashes

forming on bloated lips, blue and tightly pursed.

the sneers of life endure, belonging only to the crustaceans

consumption among friends.
